Today it was time for architectural photography again. Two beautiful buildings in Saarlouis were on my agenda. The Theater am Ring right in the centre of Saarlouis and the Saarpolygon monument just outside on the Duhamel spoil tip.
The Saar polygon
The Saarpolygon is a steel sculpture and monument to the former stone mining industry in Saarland. It stands on the 150 metre high Duhamel spoil tip near Ensdorf, just east of Saarlouis. Due to its exposed location, it can be seen from all directions. You can park at the foot of the spoil tip near the Ensdorf open-air swimming pool. The ascent takes about 15 to 20 minutes. All of the following photos were taken with my Sony A7II.
