Despite the current turbulent weather here on the Mediterranean, we use the few sunny days for hikes in the hinterland of Catalonia.

Hiking at Capafonts

Today's plan was a hike in the Parc Natural de la Serra de Montsant, more precisely in the Muntanyes des Prades. Our hike began in the small village of Capafonts at an altitude of about 700 metres. The drive up from the plain alone was more than spectacular with our 6.5 t camper.

Hiking in the Muntanyes des Prades

The hike goes along small paths, first along small, crystal-clear and blue bathing domes and finally climbs steeply up to the natural stone bridge Pont de Goi. The plateau is now reached and you walk along larger paths and light vegetation until the descent begins again. The paths are lined with lots of rosemary and thyme. The odd wild lavender also makes an appearance. From here on, small and large caves alternate with imposing rock formations. After a good five hours of hiking, we reach our starting point in Capafonts and are happy about the beautiful hike and the sunny day.
